Erick Thohir: 82 SOE Strategic Projects Are Completed, The Remaining 6 Are Not Complete

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that towards the end of his term of office there were still around six BUMN strategic projects that had not been completed from 88 projects.

"So from 88 (BUMN strategic projects) it has reached 82 (completed)," said Erick when met at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta, Sunday, May 5.

Erick said there are still six projects that are in the process of being completed. However, according to Erick, only five of the six projects are likely to be completed.

"There are still 6 (which have not been completed). However, there is one that is quite difficult to complete. But yes, it is impossible for us to complete a 100 percent job, perfect belongs to Allah," he said.

Previously, the Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga said as many as 79 of the 88 SOE startegis projects had been completed. He stated that the remaining nine strategic projects would be completed before President Jokowi's administration was completed.

"Hopefully October will be finished," he said when met in the Central Jakarta area, Wednesday, February 21. Arya said that one of the things being worked on was the completion of the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) project.

After the hotel was inaugurated, then what was being pursued for the completion of the construction was the hospital. "KEK Sanur, yesterday the hotel was officially registered. Just waiting for the hospital, maybe the estimate for the first semester is already running," he said.

Apart from the Sanur SEZ, Arya said that his party was also boosting the refocusing of the Food SOE organization. Then, the transition of coal into new and renewable energy (EBT).

Arya revealed that the strategic project that is also being accelerated is the financial restructuring of Pharmaceutical SOEs. There is also an unlock value of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI). The BSI unlock process is also ongoing," he said.

Then, continued Arya, the Tanjung Benoa New project is also targeted for completion in the second semester of this year. This includes the restructuring and integration of BUMN works.

"Just the restructuring and integration of BUMN works. It takes time, but that's the initial stage you will get. This means that the shape is starting to appear," he said.
