Sri Mulyani Reveals Kartini's Thoughts And Principles Continue To Be Carried Out Towards An Inclusive Economy

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati conveyed that RA Kartini's thoughts and principles could be a basis for all to lead to an inclusive economy.

"That's what I hope for all of you to get the theme of crossing the boundary from Kartini and if that's done, then the sentence will automatically occur with the sentence APBN financial note and GBHN towards an inclusive economy," said Sri Mulyani in the seminar Kartini Penetang Batas, Towards an Inclusive Economy in Jakarta, Thursday, April 25.

Sri Mulyani told how Kartini's role in breaking all existing boundaries, ranging from restrictions on thinking, education to restrictions on social norms.

During the event, Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed her admiration for Kartini's way of thinking about the importance of giving women space to be broad-minded, and having equal rights to men.

Because, according to Kartini, women are the first school for every human child on this earth. So, the woman must be given space to strengthen her insight as the first educator of human children.

"I am very amazed how there can be such extraordinary thoughts, not only brilliant, passion, but also being able to find aspects of what are called fair and civilized humane values of Kartini," he said.

In addition, Sri Mulyani hopes that Kartini's principles can be applied and adjusted to the conditions of every era and advised all levels of the Ministry of Finance to fully trust Kartini's ideals.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the Ministry of Finance must make the people feel the presence of the state.

"If they feel the presence of the state, it means you are also solving women's problems," he said.

Sri Mulyani said that the Ministry of Finance has various tools to provide affirmations and opportunities for women to continue to develop, such as, interest subsidies for People's Business Credit (KUR) and taxes that favor micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

According to Sri Mulyani, there is also a scholarship from the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) which can help women in their education.

At least the state is present to eliminate boundaries, and because we don't discriminate between men and women. Based on academic awards, based on interviews, based on where they are accepted. So, 57 percent of women were able to get the opportunity through their limits to continue their education, as Kartini dreamed of," she said.
