OJK Will Launch Rules For Financial Influencers In Semester II 2025

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) revealed that it is currently drafting regulations related to the regulation and supervision of financial influencer behavior or financial influencer (finfluencer) which is planned to be issued in the second half of 2025.

Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial Services Business Actors, Education and Protection of OJK Consumers, Friderica Widyasari Dewi said that her party was currently preparing a number of provisions that financial influencers needed to follow.

"Then the provisions, whether the person, for example, must follow certain certifications, then other rules like that," said the woman who is familiarly called Kiki in a media briefing at the Radius Prawiro Tower, Tuesday, March 11.

According to him, these steps were taken to protect the public, especially consumers and so that no party would be deceived by the lure of buying a product that turned out not to be in accordance with the promised.

Kiki added, there are several other possible rules that will be applied to financial influencers, or what is often called influencers.

Other provisions can be like freezing content related to financial products made by these influencers when the rules are found to be incompatible.

"For example, based on, for example, when they offer something that is not in place, even though we can freeze immediately. Right now we are working on that, hopefully in the second semester of this year it will come out," he explained.

He conveyed that there were several complaints related to various modes of fraud such as someone who claimed to be independent later, reviewing the product, and saying the product was good.

"Even though it turned out to be behind, he got a commission from the products he promoted. So it was as if he was independent saying I used this product, I've made a profit, let's get this community good and others. But it turns out that this person is actually paid by, has an interest by the company to then cook this product with words that are bombastic and others," he said.
