JAKARTA - Pertamina New and Renewable Energy (NRE) CEO John Anis opened his voice regarding the continuation of the acquisition process for 20 percent of the legalcy of the EBT company from the Philippines, Citicore Renewable Energy (CREC).
Quoted from Reuters, Pertamina will buy 20 percent of the shares in the pure renewable energy company for 6.70 billion pesos or 114.8 million US dollars.
Jon Anis revealed that until now his party is still conducting further studies regarding the acquisition plan.
One of the studies conducted is related to profits for Indonesia if the acquisition process continues.
"We also have to see what the benefits are for Indonesia? So, firstly, the company must be healthy. Must have a good portfolio and a strong balance sheet," he told the media crew quoted on Tuesday, March 11.
He explained that currently there is a precedent that must be met by Pertamina NRE so that the acquisition process for this EBT company cannot be included in the company's portfolio.
"But, that we have held discussions and so on, with them it has happened. But, not officially it belongs to us," said Jon.
On the other hand, Jon said, this could be an opportunity for Pertamina NRE and Indonesia to expand competence, capability.
Through this project, he said that Indonesia had the opportunity to send Human Resources (HR) to the Philippines to develop competencies in the field of energy transition.
"We can do it, but they are very competent in their construction. So, the construction can be much more efficient. Well, that's what we will learn. Apart from that, we also want to partner," he explained.

Not only that, but Jon Anis is also targeting solar panel export cooperation to the Philippines if the aquatic program continues and solar panel production facilities in Cikarang, West Java are established.
"And we also want to bring them later when Indonesia, for example, there is a need to develop a large solar panel, with their experience, we bring their capital to partner here. So, it means that later together with them, they can also build infrastructure for new energy in Indonesia," said Jon.
