Trade Minister Zulhas Outspoken The Price Of Chicken And Eggs Is Still Expensive In The Market

BOGOR - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan said that the price of chicken and eggs is still high in the market. The price of broiler chicken is even priced at IDR 40,000 per kilogram (kg).

This was conveyed after checking the prices of basic necessities at Anyar Market, Bogor today, Monday, March 18.

"The system is still IDR 40,000 and the eggs are still stable and high," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said the high price of chicken and eggs is because the feed corn used to increase it still refers to the old price of Rp. 8,000 per kg.

"Because of the chicken, the egg that was fat yesterday used Rp. 8,000, corn which was Rp. 8,000. So (the price of chicken and eggs) has not dropped," he said.

Currently, Zulhas said the price of feed corn has started to fall. It will reach the level of IDR 4,500 per kg. He said the decline in feed prices will also affect the price of chickens and eggs in the market later.

If corn has started to go down, there are several farmers who complain. Yesterday Rp. 8,000, now it's Rp. 4,200 to Rp. 5,200, the feed has dropped," he explained.

Referring to the price panel of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) as of Monday, March 18, the national average price of chicken eggs is IDR 31,880 per kg. When compared to last week there was a decrease in the price of 0.06 percent or IDR 20 silver.

The highest price of chicken eggs is in Central Papua Province, reaching IDR 42,970 per kg. Meanwhile, the lowest price of chicken eggs is in Aceh Province at IDR 27,270 per kg.

Meanwhile, the national average price of broiler meat is IDR 38,110 per kg. When compared to last week there was a decrease in the price of 0.13 percent or IDR 50 silver.

The highest price of broiler meat is in the Papua Mountains Province at IDR 70,940 per kg. Meanwhile, the lowest price of chicken eggs is in South Sulawesi Province at IDR 30,460 per kg.
