Held F1 Powerboat Again, Government Targets Economic Impacts To Trillions Of Rupiah

JAKARTA - The Tourism and Supporting BUMN Holding, PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney, is again hosting the Powerboat F1 world championship. F1Powerboat 2024 is targeted to provide a larger multiplier effect than last year.

F1Powerboat 2024 at Lake Toba is planned to be held in Balige, Toba Regency, North Sumatra on March 2 to 3, 2024. A total of 18 international racers from around 10 countries will take part in the F1Powerboat on Lake Toba.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the implementation of the Powerboat F1 event would provide economic benefits of up to trillions of rupiah in the country's economy.

"The economic impact due to last year's Lake Toba Powerboat F1 event has had an economic impact of IDR 1.68 trillion. And managed to bring in 100,000 tourists," Luhut said at a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 7.

Meanwhile, InJourney's President Director, Donny Oskaria, said that at the second Lake Toba F1 Powerboat, InJourney will highlight Batak culture more, through various appearances of Batak tradition.

"Learning from the two events that Lake Toba is now very well known abroad, we hope that not only people know the beauty of Lake Toba, but also the Batak culture, we point out. This is a significant difference. From year to year we always improve the quality of the implementation," said Donny.

Tickets Will Be Priced Starting At IDR 50,000

InJourney's Director of Marketing and Tourism Development, Maya Watono, said that the ticket price for the F1 Powerboat audience was still being studied. However, Maya said the price was no different from last year's IDR 50,000 to IDR 500,000.

"We are reviewing it, we will launch it. Because we learned from the previous event, maybe we will launch it in the next 1 week. It will not be much different from last year," said Maya.

Maya said InJourney also ensured the readiness of accommodation around the location for the 2024 F1 Powerboat. Starting from the availability of rooms in hotels or villas, to the addition of flight frequency.

"With the next events, we will definitely build hotels, villas, houses for residents. We will also increase. We are not only in the Balige area, we are trying to make more accommodation. But indeed the economy and development in the Balige area are increasing," said Maya.

For flights, continued Maya, InJourney has coordinated with state-owned airlines to increase the frequency ahead of the event and also on the day of the event.

We will definitely add flights ahead of the event. Riders will also arrive on February 21-23. We will add domestic and international flights, Silangit and Kualanamu," he said.

"The number is we will follow the trend, so we will monitor it. We are working with Garuda, Pelita, Citilink to add flights," continued Maya.
