Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid split after 10 years together

JAKARTA - Actress Courteney Cox and musician Johnny McDaid ended their relationship after more than 10 years together. The two are known as celebrity couples who were engaged, separated, and then re-established a relationship.

PEOPLE, quoted Sunday, June 28, confirmed the news after it was first reported by the Daily Mail. Until now, Cox and McDaid's representatives have not commented on the news of the separation.

Cox, 62, and McDaid, 49, began dating in late 2013 after meeting at a party the Friends star threw at her home.

Their relationship developed quickly. Nine months after dating, the two got engaged. However, the engagement was canceled at the end of 2015. They rekindled their relationship the following year, but were no longer engaged.

The pair last appeared together in public at the US Open tennis tournament in September 2025. Previously, in July 2025, Cox still posted a birthday greeting for McDaid via Instagram.

"Happy birthday to the man who can do almost anything," Cox wrote. The post was accompanied by photos of McDaid performing on stage, flying a plane, to posing with Cox holding his catch. "I always love you, J."

In April 2024, Cox revealed that their relationship ended while undergoing couples therapy. At that time, he admitted that he never expected McDaid to end their relationship.

"Three years in, we broke up, and it was so hard. We broke up while in therapy. I didn't know it was going to happen," Cox said on Minnie Questions with Minnie Driver podcast.

"He ended our relationship in the first minute. I was like, what? We were engaged, and I was so shocked. I was so hurt," she said.

However, Cox admitted that the separation was an important lesson for him. He said the experience helped him understand his limits and how to have a healthier relationship. In fact, he is grateful to have gone through that time because their relationship changed for the better when they got back together the following year.
