The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Highlights EV Infrastructure Still Piles In Jakarta

JAKARTA - Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jisman Hutajulu highlighted the large number of electric vehicle infrastructures such as public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) and public electric vehicle battery charging stations (SPBKLU) which are still piling up a lot in Jakarta.

For this reason, he said, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will make a concept so that the inequality in the development of battery-based electric motorized vehicle (KBLBB) infrastructure can be evenly distributed throughout the region. Later this concept will involve the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in developing KBLBB infrastructure, through the Environment Readiness For The Transition To Electric Vehicle In Indonesia (ENTREV) program.

"So we have asked that from now on what concept has been made, it is the concept that leads to roadmaps on how we develop the KBLBB infrastructure or charging units, don't just accumulate in Jakarta," said Jisman, quoted on Friday, January 19.

In the distribution of KBLBB infrastructure, Jisman explained, Java Island is still dominant compared to other islands in Indonesia. With the following details, Banten (46 SPKLU and 294 SPBKLU); DKI Jakarta (258 SPKLU and 555 SPBKLU); West Java (211 SPKLU and 367 SPBKLU); Central Java and DIY (74 SPKLU and 72 SPBKLU); East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara (179 SPKLU and 217 SPBKLU).

Meanwhile, in the Sumatra region (78 SPKLU units and 199 SPBKLU); Kalimantan (17 SPKLU and 20 SPBKLU); Sulawesi (39 SPKLU and 48 SPBKLU); Maluku (5 SPKLU); and Papua (4 SPKLU). So that when totaled, SPKLU as many as 932 units and SPBKLU as many as 1,772 units.

Just so you know, until the end of 2023, the realization of KBLBB infrastructure development reached 2,704 units, while the target was 1,035 units.

"Our KBLBB infrastructure target is 1,035 units, while the realization is more than 2.5 times, or a percentage of 261 percent," concluded Jisman.
