Tax Reporting Season Begins, DGT Reveals 219,593 Taxpayers Have Deposited Annual SPT 2023

JAKARTA - The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has opened the 2023 tax report period for Private People (WP) and the Agency. As for January 8, 2024, there have been thousands of taxpayers who have reported the 2023 Annual Notification Letter (SPT).

Director of Counseling, Services and Public Relations Dwi Astuti said, until January 8, 2024, 219,593 Taxpayers had reported 2023 Annual SPT with details of Taxpayers who had reported consisting of 208,997 Private Taxpayers and 10,596 Body Taxpayers.

"A total of 219,593 have submitted, consisting of OP 208,997, WP Badan 10,596. Thank you to the Taxpayers who have submitted their Annual SPT and even only January 8," he told the media, Monday, January 8, 2024.

Dwi continued that his party would send an email blast to taxpayers to remind that the annual SPT report limit for individual taxpayers is March 31, 2024, and for the Report of Body Taxpayers on April 30, 2024.

"Email blast, for sure, it's a good habit, later in February we will usually email blast reminding OP that March 31 is the final limit, and corporate taxpayer April 30," he explained.

In addition, Dwi reminded the public to immediately update the NIK as a NPWP and appealed to taxpayers to validate before reporting the 2023 Annual SPT.

"We urge once again during this report, let's validate NIK that has not been validated, so that SPT reporting is a good moment," he said.

For information, SPT is a letter used by taxpayers to report calculations and/or tax payments, tax objects and/or non-tax objects, and/or assets and obligations in accordance with the provisions of tax laws and regulations.
