The Government Will Impose Sanctions On Industries That Cause Air Pollution In The Country

The Indonesian Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita ensured that the government would impose strict sanctions on every rogue industry or that causes air pollution in the country.

"There will definitely be sanctions," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang as quoted by Antara, Monday, September 4.

Regarding what firm steps the government will take regarding controlling air pollution allegedly carried out by the industry, especially ahead of the ASEAN Summit (KTT), Agus Gumiwang said regulations and sanctions for rogue industries refer to the statement of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment.

On that occasion, Agus said to clean up pollution or air pollution, especially in the capital city area, this is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand.

Because, it requires one concept and one clear road map.

Not only that, to clear Jakarta's skies ahead of the 2023 ASEAN Summit, the former Minister of Social Affairs who replaced Idrus Marham said that every ministry and state institution has duties and responsibilities.

Then for companies or industries in the country that do not yet have a script tool that functions to remove environmental toxins from the emissions of an industry, the Ministry of Industry asserts and requires it to be obeyed.

"We have obliged it (scrubber)," he said briefly.
