JAKARTA - The Greater Jakarta Integrated Traffic Light (LRT) will conduct a trial run for the general public from July 12 to August 18, 2023.

During the trial, the public can enjoy LRT services at a rate of one rupiah.

Head of KAI's Jabodebek LRT Division, Mochamad Purnomosidi said, this trial scheme will later require the public to register on LRT social media so they can try out this mode of transportation.

"So you can register via social media later. We are currently working on a mechanism for how to register and limit people," he said when met at the Dukuh Atas LRT Station, Wednesday, June 28.

Purnomosidi added that the trial would later be carried out from Dukuh Atas Station with the final destination being Jati Mulya Station, Bekasi.

Later, he continued, there will be a limit of 150 to 200 passengers a day.

This aims to maintain public euphoria until the LRT is officially launched on August 18.

"We also mustn't lose this moment which the President will inaugurate on August 18. Later there will be many who have nauk, the moment's pulse will disappear," explained Purnomosidi.

To note, the Jabodebek LRT Project is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) in accordance with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Number 21 of 2022 which has 18 stop points in 3 cross-services, namely Cawang-Bekasi, Cawang-Cibubur and Cawang-Dukuh Atas.

The operation of the Jabodebek LRT is expected to be an alternative mode of transportation for passengers connecting Bekasi City, Depok City and DKI Jakarta.

The Jabodebek LRT service is scheduled to carry out limited operations from 12 July 2023 until the inauguration of August 18, 2023 to coincide with the 78th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.
