JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK has won a new contract worth IDR 1.9 trillion in the Proving Ground Development Project for the Roadworthiness Testing Center and Motor Vehicle Certification (BPLJSKB) Bekasi, West Java Province.
The project was developed through the Government Cooperation with Business Entity (PPP) scheme which also cooperates with PT Indonesia International Automotive Proving Ground (IIAPG).
Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Tjahjo Purnomo said that in this PPP project, partner selection is the key to success in project development.
"We have approached this project intensively for 2 years, including selecting consortium partners because this project is high-tech and requires funding for investment," said Tjahjo in an official statement, quoted Friday, November 4.
Tjahjo said the PPP project is targeted to be completed within the next 2 years, but the soft launching of the project is expected in November 2023, and the grand launching in November 2024.
"The investment value for this project is Capital Expenditure, which is IDR 1,986 billion," he said.
Furthermore, Tjahjo said that the scope of Hutama Karya's work in this project includes the design of the proving ground which will be equipped with various facilities, construction of facilities and provision of equipment and information systems, maintenance of infrastructure and testing equipment, as well as the implementation of periodic training.
This infrastructure will be equipped with various modern facilities for various types of type tests for motor vehicles, such as breaking system tests, speedometers, noise emission, rearview mirrors, steering equipment, and exhaust emissions.
To realize the development of the transportation sector and the national automotive industry, Hutama Karya is participating in the IIAPG consortium which has the capacity and capability in this project.
The IIAPG consortium consists of PT Gobel International, PT Bintang Pradipa Persada, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation, and Japan Overseas Infrastructure Investment Corporation for Transport & Urban Development (JOIN) from Japan.

Tjahjo said Hutama Karya's strategy in completing the construction of this project was to speed up land work. So it is hoped that other structural work can be carried out in parallel.
