The Budget Deficit Continues To Shrink, Sri Mulyani Calls The Health Of The State Budget More Maintained

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the size of the deficit in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) was increasingly showing encouraging results with continued decline.

The Minister of Finance stated that until November 30, 2021, the budget deficit was IDR 611 trillion or 3.63 percent of gross domestic product (GDP). This figure is lower when compared to the same period the previous year (year-on-year/yoy) of Rp.885 trillion or 5.73 percent of GDP.

"This shows an improvement in the health of the State Budget which we will maintain so that it can become a reliable instrument in any situation," he said at a virtual press conference on our State Budget, Tuesday, December 21.

This positive book then affected budget financing from the previous Rp. 1,101.5 trillion in November 2020 to Rp. 642.6 trillion in November 2021, a decrease of 41.7 percent.

"This clearly illustrates the economic recovery and the hard work of the state budget to protect the people, provide assistance, and also provide assistance to the business world," he said.

For information, in the 2021 State Budget Law, the government has set a state revenue target of IDR 1,743.6 trillion. Meanwhile, the realization until the end of last month was recorded at Rp1,699.4 trillion.

Meanwhile, the state spending sector has a ceiling of IDR 2,750 trillion with a realization of IDR 2,310.4 trillion or 84 percent of the target.
