Government Deploys Hilal Observer To Points Dominated By Beaches, Mountains, And Hills

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) will hold a session to decide the beginning of Ramadan 1442 H on Monday, April 12. The Isbat session on the determination of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr will involve a number of integrated teams. Observer teams will be deployed in locations dominated by beaches, mountains, and hills.

Director-General of Islamic Community Guidance (Bimas Islam), Kamaruddin Amin, through a press statement received by VOI, Saturday, April 10, said the Isbat Session will be held online and offline, led directly by The Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.

The Ministry also invited Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) leaders and a number of representatives from Commission VIII of the House of Representatives to the Ministry of Religious Affairs Building in Jakarta.
