Making Wulan Guritno An Online Antijudicial Ambassador Is Ngawur And A Productive Contra

Wulan became an antijudionline ambassador and Oklin, an MUI ambassador.

But then the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie opened the opportunity to make Wulan Guritno cs an antijudionline ambassador.

"Ginilho, later he will be questioned by the police (the Wulan Guritno case) just wait, later the police, we want him to be the antijudiline ambassador. He (Wulan) has said in the media that he doesn't know. Think it's a game. It's not about one artist, yes, (but) everything, celebgrams, artists," said Budi Arie, Monday (4/9/2023), during a working meeting with Commission I of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan. This meeting did discuss the rise of online gambling in the community.

Budi Arie explained the reason for making Wulan Guritno an online antijudicial ambassador because of the artist's ignorance of promoting gambling sites that are considered as games.

Budi Arie's reasons are considered unreasonable. Because in the video circulating, it is clear that the woman who was born in London promotes gambling. Netizens immediately reacted. The results were as expected, most of them disagreed if Wulan Guritno, or anyone else, was actually made an ambassador after making a mistake, because they were deemed unfit to be role models.

"I don't agree, because we should stop providing spots to people who make mistakes," said a resident who refused Wulan Guritno to be made an antijudial ambassador.

Actually, this is not the first time someone has been made an ambassador. Recently, the Oklin Fia celebrity is also rumored to be appointed as the ambassador of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). Even though he is also involved in legal problems because the videos he uploads on social media are considered too vulgar.

However, the issue of Oklin's appointment as an ambassador was immediately denied by MUI Chairman Cholil Nafis.

"I emphasize that at MUI I never thought, never decided to make Oklin Fia as MUI's ambassador," said Cholil, quoted by the official MUI website.

Seeing the large number of country celebrities who suddenly were appointed as ambassadors after making mistakes, it was quite intriguing. Public Policy Observer Trubus Rahardiansyah also spoke up.

According to him, the discourse of the Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie to make Wulan Guritno an online antijudicial ambassador is a wrong step. This idea is considered to be able to hurt the general public.

"This is a counter-productive policy, because if everyone who commits a crime and from that crime is promoted, then in the end the law does not apply. People who violate the law must be punished, do not even be made ambassadors," Trubus said while talking to VOI, Wednesday (6/9/2023).

"This hurts the general public, who may not be beautiful, not rich, not famous. The government should not be indiscriminate and there should be no discrimination in enforcement. It's clear why he violated the gambling, he should have a tough sentence," Trubus said.

Trubus further said that this ambassador actually had a domino effect on the community. According to him, the public will have the perception that violating regulations is a dignified act.

This seems like an official is looking for an image. Even though this does not provide good lessons to the public. People will think this is a good thing, they are considered dignified even though they are not," said Trubus.

"They should be punished first, undergo the process of public relations, after completing their legal affairs, if they want to be made new ambassadors, they should. Now that the legal process is still ongoing, it will actually intervene in the law," Trubus said again.
