"We will not allow any new HPH/IUP," said Prabowo.

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has confirmed that the government is reviewing all land use permits, such as forest management rights (HPH) and mining business permits (IUP), so that no new permits or permit extensions are issued in 2025.

"In the plenary Cabinet Meeting in Jakarta, the President also announced that the government this year will take back 4 million hectares of oil palm land that was originally controlled by companies that did not obey the rules," he said.

"This year, the Minister of Forestry and the Minister of ATR and (Head) of the Land Agency, during this year, no permits were issued or extended. There was not one, whether it was HPH, whether it was an extension, and also the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources did not issue any IUP or the like," said President Prabowo when speaking at the closing session of the Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 15, reported by ANTARA.

"Because we will review, because we will re-examine what is not in accordance with Article 33 (UUD 1945, red.), which is not beneficial to the people, we should not hesitate. We stick to it, I stick to this: Land, and water, and natural wealth contained in it are controlled by the State, and are used for the greatest prosperity of the people," continued the President reading the contents of Article 33 of the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia in 1945.

"The government has given concessions to use land to entrepreneurs, but some of them have actually harmed the country," said Prabowo, highlighting that there are entrepreneurs who actually harm the country, even though they are given concessions to use land by the state.

"If they who hold concessions, abuse, take advantage, but the profits are taken abroad, and are not put in the country, it is detrimental to national interests, and the interests of the Indonesian people. I consider it disrespectful to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, whether accepting concessions, accepting HGU, accepting HTI, accepting HPH, accepting IUP, accepting mining permits, making a profit, but the profits do not want to be put in Indonesia. I consider it not beneficial to national interests, the interests of the people," said President Prabowo.

"If we let it continue, we are negligent, we are not worthy of running the government," continued the President.

"In front of ministers, deputy ministers, agency leaders, TNI and Polri leaders, the President emphasized again the contents of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution which must become a guide for all state officials," he said.

"This is once again, for the umpteenth time, I explain this, it is very clear, the economy is structured as a joint venture based on the principle of kinship. There should be no corporation that defeats the state. We need corporations, we need the business world, private, but he should not organize the state and defeat the state. [...] So, once again, all regulations, all legal products that do not comply with Article 33, we must dare to leave, and we change, our course must refer to the 1945 Law Article 33," said President Prabowo.
