JAKARTA - The fire on the ground floor of Al Mawaddah Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta (Jaksel) resulted in at least nine male students short of breath.

"Nine people with male gender, aged 13 to 17 years of shortness of breath," said the South Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Commander, Muhammad Nur, ANTARA, Wednesday, December 10.

Nur added that they had now been taken to Andhika General Hospital for medical treatment.

Then, there were other victims who were short of breath and were immediately handled by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) at the location.

"Then, four women and one man at the location were also short of breath and were being handled by PMI," he said.

Until now, the cause of the fire is still being investigated by the authorities.

A total of 66 South Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. personnel extinguished the fire at the Al Mawaddah Islamic Boarding School in Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta (Jaksel).

The fire, which is located on Jalan Sadar Raya No.34 3, RT03/RW04, Ciganjur, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta City, was reported to have started at 14.30 WIB.

The fire information comes from reports from the public submitted to the nearest Gulkarmat post.

Until this news was published, the situation could be handled and in the cooling process since 15.30 WIB.
