Perpetrators Of The Burst Of SMAN 72 Jakarta Claiming To Be Bomb Materials Purchased From Online Shops

JAKARTA - Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto said the alleged perpetrator of the SMAN 72 Jakarta bomb explosion, namely a child with a legal conflict (ABH) admitted to buying explosives online.

"Yes, it is like that (allegedly purchased online). Because it was his parents who received (packages)," Budi told the media, Friday, November 21, 2025.

Budi revealed that the family was not suspicious of the package. This is because the perpetrator confessed to his family that the package was for extracurricular purposes at his school.

"Then if the package items received are for extra school curriculars. So there is no suspicion from the family either," he said.

The explosion occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, when Friday's prayer sermon took place. As a result of the explosion as many as 96 people became victims.

Dansat Brimob Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Henik Maryanto revealed, based on the crime scene (TKP), it is known that the main explosives were potassium chloride.

"Then the explosives or explosive that we found were detected by potassium chloride, which was used by the suspect," he said.
