The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore Suryopratomo said the construction of North Bali International Airport was a relevant effort to equalize economic growth and stability in Bali.

Suryopratomo received a visit from the CEO of PT BIBU Panji Sakti Erwanto Sad Adiatmoko Hariwibowo and the supervisory representatives of Puri-Puri Se-Jebag Bali (P3SB) AA Ngurah Ugrasena (Pelingsir Pura Agung Singaraja and at the same time the Secretary General of P3SB) and the Son of Agung Ngurah Alit Kakarsana (Pelingsir Puri Ageng Blangbatuh, Gianyar) in Singapore, Saturday.

As quoted from the information received in Denpasar, Bali, Saturday, Suryopratomo also expressed his concern that so far most economic activities, tourism, property development, and centralized infrastructure burdens in southern Bali have made the area too heavy compared to other parts of Bali.

Ambassador Suryopratomo expressed the support and willingness of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to become one of the communication bridges for investors, international parties, and Indonesian diaspora who are interested in contributing to this project.

"I see a great opportunity so that North Bali can become a new gateway that not only opens space for local growth, but also becomes the economic center for eastern Indonesia's development," he said.

He stated that the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore is ready to assist diplomatic efforts and establish international relations to support the acceleration of the realization of this project.

"We have a commitment to create an airport in North Bali. Given that Singapore is one of the world's financial centers, we have moved to convince stakeholders," said Ambassador Suryopratomo.

According to Suryopratomo, South Bali is tired of accommodating tourist visiting capacity.

"It's time for North Bali to develop to balance South Bali for the good of Bali itself and for the development of the tourism industry," he said.

He explained that the construction of North Bali International Airport had long been rolled out as one of the strategic steps to balance economic growth and equalize development in Bali.

So far, the social-economic burden has been mainly focused on the southern region of Bali from Denpasar to Badung which includes infrastructure, density, and environmental degradation.

Bali Baru Airport, which has been explicitly determined, is located in North Bali, which is officially listed in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 12 of 2025 concerning RPJMN 2025-2029.

This Presidential Regulation was prepared by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas and signed by President Prabowo Subianto on February 10, 2025.

Meanwhile, the CEO of PT BIBU Panji Sakti Erwanto Sad Adiatmoko Hariwibowo conveyed a work map as well as a "timeline" plan and partnership scheme.

"God willing, in the near future we will immediately start the construction of an international airport in North Bali," said Erwanto.

Meanwhile, the two Balinese polling figures, namely AA Ngurah Ugrasena and AA Ngurah Alit Kakarsana, said this project was not just an infrastructure project, but part of the traditional mandate and responsibility to preserve the culture and welfare of the Balinese people, especially North Bali, so they would not be left behind in the development process in Bali.

"Moreover, we heard directly the promise made by the President when we, the reporters throughout Bali, received last year," said AA Ngurah Alit Kakarsana.

On that occasion, Ambassador Suryopratomo was officially appointed as a member of the Paiketan Puri-Puri extended family in Se-Jebag Bali.

The badge of honor from Paiketan Puri-Puri Se-Jebag Bali was pinned by the surrounding AA Ngurah Ugrasena.
