KKEP Session AKBP Bintoro, 21 Witnesses Will Be Presented

JAKARTA - The Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) session for alleged violators of AKBP Bintoro related to the abuse of authority behind the alleged extortion of Prodia's boss's son, was held today. Propam Polda Metro Jaya is said to be presenting 21 witnesses.

"What is certain is that it was announced that approximately 21 witnesses will be questioned for one suspect AKBP B," said Kompolnas Commissioner Choirul Anam to reporters, Friday, February 7.

However, it was not detailed about the identities of the dozens of witnesses who would be presented. It is only stated that anyone who will later be used as a witness at the trial can shed light on the case.

In particular, regarding the storyline of the alleged extortion of Prodia's son, which involved AKBP Bintoro and four other policemen.

"Hopefully whoever is called will come if he doesn't come, he will most likely use what has been written. Because indeed, don't let the structure of this story break because there is no information whatsoever," he said.

Apart from the number of witnesses, Anam said that the form of alleged abuse of authority in this case was more of a bribe. Because, there is social involvement outside the police who have a big role behind the issue

"If you ask more deeply, is this closer to extortion is this closer to bribery? It's closer to bribery," Anam said.

Apart from AKBP Bintoro, four other police officers who will be tried internally, namely the former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Gogo Galesung; former Head of Resmob Satreskrim South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Ahmad Zakaria; former Head of PPA Sat Reskrim South Jakarta Metro Police, AKP Mariana; and Head of Subunit Resmob South Jakarta Metro Police with the initials ND.

AKBP Bintoro is suspected of extorting two suspects in the murder case, namely Arif Nugroho (AN) alias Bastian 'son of the owner of the Prodia laboratory clinic network and Muhammad Bayu Hartanto. The value of extortion reached Rp20 billion.

The extortion worth Rp20 billion consists of Rp5 billion in cash and Rp1.6 billion which is claimed to be transferred in three stages.

Munawir believes that so far there have been parties who deliberately take advantage of the price of subsidies. So that the government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will stop it so that people get their true rights.

"This is what is meant by controlling and regulating 3 kg LPG governance so that it is more transparent, effective and efficient and on target so that the whole community is well served," said Munawir.

Munawir assessed that the problem so far is because maybe non-optimal supervision, both in terms of distribution, price disparities and the granting of location permits from agents to bases.

"Once we emphasize that the PB HMI ESDM Division fully supports the government's new policy through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the welfare of the community and eradicates the LPG Subsidy mafias for melon gas," concluded the man from Southeast Sulawesi.

Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said the government was drafting regulations so that the status of retailers could be changed to a base so that people could get the appropriate price when buying directly at the base. When signing the regulation, Bahlil said that the ban was carried out to prevent price games at the retail level. The policy was then refined again by changing the retailing status to a sub base.

Bahlil announced that all 3 kg LPG retailers in Indonesia around 375 thousand will be raised to sub base status. This step aims to ensure that the distribution of subsidized LPG is right on target and prices remain affordable.
