Inhu Police Arrest One Suspect For Enforcing National Park Forests

JAKARTA - The Indragiri Hulu Police, Riau Province secured a forest divider at the Bukit Tiga Puluh National Park (TNBT) with the initials MT (51) in a joint security operation with the Forestry Police (Polhut).

Head of the Inhu Police Satreskrim AKP Arthur Joshua Toreh said the arrests began with reports of forest additions for oil palm plantations without a permit. The joint team found workers operating with heavy equipment operators and assistants on forest areas.

"Based on the information from the workers that they had worked for three days on the land," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, February 6.

Furthermore, the team took the coordinates at the scene of the case, after which they brought the perpetrators and evidence to the Police Headquarters for further investigation. D

After the results of the interrogation of the worker, it turned out that the land belonged to MT, who rented heavy equipment for land clearing.

"The suspect and evidence have been detained, the process is still in the process of making roads and 'steking' using heavy excavator equipment," he said.

MT alias Opiq has been detained since Tuesday (4/2/). He played a role in illegally using, occupying forest areas.

The suspect violated Article 36 number 19 point 3 and or Article 37 point 16 point 1 letter a & b Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the stipulation of Perppu Number 2 of 2022 into Law in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
