JAKARTA - The Health Office of Mukomuko Regency, Bengkulu Province, stated that the number of COVID-19 patients who died in this area has reached 20 people.

"The last data of COVID-19 patients died from Manjuto Water District as many as 19 people, now the number increases by one person to a total of 20 people. Patients infected with coronavirus are from Malin Deman Sub-district," said Head of Mukomuko District Health Office, Desriani, in a statement in Mukomuko, as reported by Antara, Sunday, April 11.

She said they received a report related to one COVID-19 patient who died from Malin Deman Subdistrict from health workers in the region.

The local health office initially received word that one COVID-19 patient died from this area while the patient was still in Bengkulu City, then the agency got word that covid-19 patients were buried in a public cemetery in this area, Saturday, April 10, night.

"The COVID-19 patients who died were from this area who were treated at a hospital in Bengkulu City, then this patient died in the hospital," she said.

Then this COVID-19 patient was taken to a funeral home in Malin Deman Subdistrict, and when he got to this area, the patient was immediately buried in a public cemetery in the area.

She ensured that funerals for COVID-19 patients were carried out in accordance with the rules, namely health protocols to prevent the transmission and spread of coronavirus in this area.

Furthermore, health officials together with local health center officials will conduct a search of the contact history of COVID-19 patients who died.

"With a case like this we continue to search the contact history of these patients to break the chain of transmission of coronavirus in Malin Deman Subdistrict, especially in the region," Desriani said.
