Nawawi Pomolango Calls Albertina Ho's Report To Dewas Not Nurul Ghufron's First Manuver At The KPK
Acting (Plt) Chairman of the KPK Nawawi Pomolango (ANTARA)

JAKARTA - The interim chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango said that the report of KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho to the KPK Supervisory Board by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, was a personal attitude. Just like when he sued the leadership term at the Constitutional Court (MK).

It is known that the tenure of the anti-corruption commission leadership and supervisory board is now five years from the previous four years. At that time, the Constitutional Court granted the request submitted by Ghufron.

"It was entirely the attitude of Mr. NG. As was the case when Mr. NG submitted a request regarding the age limit and extension to the Constitutional Court last time," said Nawawi when contacted by VOI, Friday, April 26.

"Dewas, who was not aware of the application, was also affected by the extension of the year," he continued.

Nawawi hopes that this polemic in the spotlight can be resolved soon. He wants the anti-corruption commission to focus more on carrying out its work to investigate allegations of corruption.

"I can only hope that all the chaos that hit this institution can be over soon and the KPK can focus more on working on quality work," he said.

As previously reported, KPK Deputy Chair Nurul Ghufron reported KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho to the KPK Supervisory Board for allegedly abusing his authority after coordinating with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). In addition, he also filed a lawsuit at the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN).

Albertina personally suspects that the report was carried out because Ghufron stumbled on an ethical violation of his abuse of authority. He is suspected of dealing with employee mutations at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) and will be tried on May 2.

Meanwhile, Ghufron submitted the assessment to the public. He only said that the reporting and lawsuits were made because he saw an ethical violation.

"It's our obligation to enforce ethics by obliging to report it," Ghufron told reporters, Thursday, April 25.

"Every member of the KPK enforces the values of integrity and is asked to report it," he continued, saying that he had handed over the entire process to the Supervisory Board.
