Golkar Party Faction Refuses To Propose Interpellation To Anies: Adding More Work, Waste Of Time

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Golkar Party faction of the DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) Basri Baco admitted that his party did not want to follow the steps of the PDIP and PSI Parties in submitting an interpellation right proposal regarding Formula E. Baco considered the interpellation step a waste of time.

"We, Golkar, will definitely not participate in the interpellation because it only adds more work and is a waste of time. That's not what people expect now", Baco told reporters, Friday, August 27.

Baco considers that the DPRD still has many other tasks that must be prioritized. For example, holding joint leadership meetings which are currently pending, commission meetings, and meetings in their respective factions.

"That's our obligation, but our friends are busy with interpellation. Is there no other way? Have all the obligations of the council been carried out? How long does it take for the interpellation to be completed? Moreover, the people are waiting", said Baco.

However, Baco admitted that he still opposes the implementation of Formula E, which is planned to be held in 2022. However, this refusal does not need to be realized in an interpellation.

"We don't agree with Formula E because in principle we are more focused on returning the money. But if you want to use interpellation because of that, Golkar also doesn't agree. It's better to cancel Formula E, then return the money to the community", explained Baco.

Yesterday, a group of DPRD members from the PDIP and PSI factions came to the room of the Chairperson of the DKI DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, to propose an interpellation right on Formula E. They came together with the hope that the interpellation could be realized.

The interpellation application letter, along with the signatures of the DPRD members who proposed it, were already in Prasetio's hands. After this, the DPRD will determine a timetable for holding a plenary meeting to decide whether the interpellation can be held or not.

In order to approve the implementation of the interpellation, DPRD members who are present at the plenary meeting must meet a quorum of 50 percent + 1 or as many as 54 DPRD members.

Currently, there are only 33 DPRD members who have proposed the interpellation of Formula E. Therefore, PDIP and PSI will persuade DPRD members from other factions to participate in plenary meetings.

PDIP faction member Ima Mahdiah said that the support of other faction members in criticizing the implementation of Formula E could be realized by attending a plenary meeting. This is because the number of DPRD members who propose interpellation is not sufficient to meet the quorum in the plenary meeting.

"We hope that those who may want to come forward as individuals, can attend the plenary forum. Because if we only have 33 people in the plenary session, we lost votes. We cannot continue the interpellation", said Ima.
