West Rote Police Chief Removed After Persecution Of Residents, NTT Police: We Are Firm, Maximum Ethical Sanctions Can Be Dishonourable Dismissal

KUPANG - The NTT Regional Police removed the post of a sector police chief (kapolsek) with the initials JSB who served in West Rote District, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). JSB is suspected of mistreating a resident with the initials YYD (32).

"The member with the initials JSB who served at the Southwest Rote Police has been removed from his position and is being held under intensive investigation by the Propam Rote Ndao Police," said Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police Grand Commissioner Rishian Krisna in Kupang, Antara, Sunday, August 22.

The former Head of the North Central Timor Police said that apart from the perpetrators being investigated, the victims who were abused were also questioned by the police to obtain information.

The NTT Police, especially the Rote Ndao Police, will take firm action against any member who commits a violation, whether it is a violation of discipline, a code of ethics, or even a criminal offense.

"Several members have been investigated for violating discipline, code of ethics, or criminal conduct, and some have been dishonorably dismissed or fired. Internally there are two, disciplinary hearings and code of ethics trials. The maximum sanction for the code of ethics is dishonorable dismissal (PTDH)," he said again.

The incident began on Friday, August 20 last. The perpetrator at that time was playing billiards in the vicinity of Simpang Utomo, Lobalain District, Rote Ndao.

It is suspected that the perpetrator had a disagreement with the victim, so that the perpetrator assaulted the victim.

As a result of the physical violence, the victim's face and body were bruised. This case has also been reported by the victim to the Rote Ndao Police Station for legal processing.
