New Student Registration Schedule In Central Kalimantan Postponed Because Many Parents Not Understand PPDB Mechanism
JAKARTA - The Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office conveyed that the acceptance of new students (PPDB) for SMA (Senior High School), SMK (Vocational School), and SLB (School for Exceptional Children) for the 2021/2022 Academic Year was postponed.
Acting Head of Central Kalimantan Education Office, Syaifudi said that if it was according to the previous schedule, June 14-17 2021 was the registration period, but because there were still many people who did not fully understand the PPDB mechanism, it was decided to postpone the schedule.
"Many people or parents communicate with us and need a more in-depth explanation of the PPDB mechanism," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 14.
For this reason, PPDB acceptance schedule has decided to be postponed to 28 June-1 July 2021, so that public understanding is expected to be more optimal regarding the mechanisms implemented by the provincial government.
The postponement to be executed will not interfere with the flow and other stages of PPDB, until later entering the new school year.
In addition, he said, the delay was more for efforts to optimize the understanding of the PPDB mechanism to the community and not because of technical obstacles related to supporting infrastructure.

Syaifudi emphasized that the application of zoning is an effort of equity and is believed to have many positive impacts on the development of the world of education.
"We make sure the schools in each zoning are decent and of good quality," he said.
For example, those who live in the area of Tjilik Riwut street Km 10, through the zoning route, they cannot choose SMAN 1 because of different urban villages, so they must choose the school according to his zoning.
"Parents also can't confirm if their children go to SMAN 1 whether they will become great people, I don't know. Or entering SMAN 10 doesn't mean that they won't be great either. So this is what we want to generalize about the school," he said.
He explained that the registration system in the PPDB for the 2021/2022 Academic Year for SMA, SMK, and SLB was carried out online and offline.
He explained that there were 75 schools that implemented online PPDB in collaboration with network service access providers and about 15 independent online schools, as well as others whose network conditions were not adequate so they had to go offline.
