KPK Asks For Red Notice For Harun Masiku After A Year Of Fugitives, Febri Diansyah: Example Of Slapstick, Seriously Looking For Fugitives?

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol Indonesia to issue a red notice to the fugitive in the alleged bribery case between the Indonesian Parliament, Harun Masiku.

Even so, former KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah still doubts the seriousness of the KPK leadership in hunting down the former PDI-P candidates. This is because the KPK's request has only been sent since Monday, May 31, while Harun has been on the run since January 17, 2020.

"This is what you call serious looking for a fugitive?", he said as quoted from his Twitter account @febridiansyah, Thursday, June 3.

He then detailed his reasons for questioning the seriousness of Firli Bahuri et al in looking for bribes, KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

The first was when there were investigators who took part in the arrest operation (OTT) before Harun Masiku, the fugitive, was replaced during the investigation process.

"Something that rarely happens. The investigators are now being removed through the TWK", he said.

In addition, in the process of investigating this bribery case, the KPK has also returned an investigator from the police, namely Kompol Rosa. In fact, the investigator from the Bhayangkara Corps had a long period of duty so that his return was rejected by the Police.

Febri then mentioned that the KPK Employee Forum also reported the KPK leadership suspected of arbitrarily returning Kompol Rosa to the Police to the Supervisory Board. However, there has been no trial or sanction given by Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean et al to the KPK leadership until now.

"While Harun Masiku is nowhere to be found", he said.

He revealed that other KPK teams had succeeded in arresting several fugitives. But, unfortunately, Harun Masiku has not been found.

"While Harun Masiku is still somewhere, whether he is wanted or allowed to run? Unfortunately, the KPK investigators who managed to arrest several fugitives were instead removed through the TWK", said Febri.

Meanwhile, investigators who were assumed to know Harun's whereabouts could not carry out their duties because he was removed through the National Insight Test (TWK). So, Febri considers Harun Masiku's search as a joke.

"That's the journey of the story about the "slapstick" case of Harun Masiku", he said.

"Why did the KPK leadership not take Harun Masiku seriously? Is it related to the names of other politicians who appeared in court? Why were investigators & investigators who were OTT & handled Harun Masiku removed with TWK", said Febri.

As previously reported, Harun is a suspect in the part-time bribery (PAW) case for members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period. He carries this status along with three other suspects: former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu member Agustiani Tio Fridelia and the private sector, Saeful.

Previously, KPK investigator Harun Al Rasyid said Harun Masiku was still in Indonesia. In fact, the anti-corruption commission investigators know the number plate and the type of car used by the alleged briber, former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

"There is (detected in Indonesia, ed). We know the number plate person, who uses the car. How can you (you, ed) not believe that Harun is still alive", Harun told reporters, Sunday, May 30.

Related to this, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) admits that it is trying to follow up on any information related to the whereabouts of the fugitive.

"Some time ago there was information that he came here. Of course, we will follow up on the information", said Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Setyo Budiyanto to reporters at the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, June 2.

In the search process, the KPK has also carried out various methods such as publishing a wanted list (DPO) on behalf of Harun Masiku since January 17.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has also taken two precautionary measures abroad for the alleged briber to the KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

During that time, Setyo asserted, the KPK continued to try to find Harun even though it was not disclosed to the public.

"His name is conducting a search trying to find out his position where once again it has never been published except for open ones such as searches by investigators in several places in Central Sulawesi," he said.

After outside prevention could no longer be carried out due to a maximum of two extensions, the KPK then asked the National Central Bureau of Interpol Indonesia to issue a red notice on behalf of Harun Masiku on Monday, May 31.

"So we take advantage of what we get out of by asking the NCB, which we are also still making efforts to", he said.
