Ex-Dirnarkoba Polda Metro 'closed Eyes' Let Its Members Extort DWP Spectators

JAKARTA - Former Director of Drug Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak, was called 'closed eyes' for allowing his members to extort Malaysian and Indonesian citizens who had been arrested during the 2024 Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) event.

The role of Kombes Donald Parlaungan Simanjuntak was revealed in the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) session which was held on December 31, 2024.

"The alleged violator has abused and or prevented his members from securing the 2024 DWP concert audience consisting of foreign nationals and Indonesian citizens suspected of drug abuse," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko to reporters, Thursday, January 2.

"However, at the time of examination of the person who was secured, he had made a request for money in return for release or release," he continued.

With this role, the KKEP trial commission decided to impose sanctions for dismissal or dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).

In addition, Kombes Donald P. Simanjuntak was also sanctioned by the placement in a special place for the 5 days he had lived. From 27 December 2024 to 1 January 2025 in the Paksus room of the Provos Divpropam Police Bureau.

The sanctions were given based on various considerations and after examining dozens of witnesses.

"In the implementation of the commission's trial, all of them were in the testimony involving 15 witnesses," he said.

Trunoyudo said that Kombes Donald P. Simanjuntak did not immediately accept the dismissal sanction. This is because the former Polda Metro Jaya Sub-dept. filed an appeal.

"Against the KKEP decision, violators declared an appeal," said Trunoyudo.
