East Java Provincial Government Gives IDR 500.000 Per Month For Each Household For Malang Earthquake Victims
SURABAYA - Victims of the earthquake disaster in East Java get assistance waiting for housing of IDR 500 thousand per month per household.
This assistance is provided by the East Java Provincial Government so that people affected by the earthquake can rent a house with their families.
"This assistance is also to prevent the emergence of COVID-19 spread clusters in the refuge camp. So that people do not continue to be in the refuge, because even though COVID-19 has hit but has not stopped its spread", said the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, in Surabaya, Monday, April 12.
Khofifah said to accelerate the recovery and reconstruction process at this time, fast and precise validation steps are needed. The goal is to find out how many homes are affected, which fall into the light, medium, and heavy categories as well as public and social facilities.
Therefore, Khofifah requested that the data be announced or affixed to the village hall or strategic place. So that all affected citizens can make sure the data is recorded correctly.
"The bottom line by the village head, Village Guidance Officer (babinsa) Bhayangkara Fostering Public Security and Order (bhabinkamtibmas) and volunteers. Including friends from media can report if anyone is left behind in the data collection", she said.

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Malang Regency recorded that there were 3.682 houses in Malang Regency, East Java, damaged by a magnitude 6.1 earthquake, Saturday, April 10.
Head of Emergency and Logistics Of Malang Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Sadono said that, based on the latest data collected, from 24 sub-districts affected by the earthquake, there were as many as 3.682 houses damaged.
"Of these, 1.571 houses were lightly damaged, 1.115 houses were moderately damaged, and 996 houses were severely damaged", said Sadono, quoted by Antara on Monday, April 12.
Sadono said that in addition to the thousands of houses of residents who suffered the damage, the BPBD in Malang district also noted there was damage to 170 school units, 45 units of places of worship, nine units of health facilities, and 13 buildings of public facilities damaged.
"For the number of fatalities until this afternoon, it is three, while the injured became 54 people", Sadono said.
The BPBD Malang regency has also set up a public kitchen to prepare food supplies for residents affected by the earthquake. Public kitchens are centered in five areas affected by the earthquake.
