Health Minister Reports to Prabowo on Health Issues That Can Be Followed Up During Overseas Working Visit

JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin reported to President Prabowo Subianto regarding health issues that can be followed up on during the Head of State's visit to several countries in the near future.

"The President is going abroad, so he asked what health issues are related to China, America, and also England," said Minister of Health Budi after meeting the President at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Thursday, November 7, as quoted by Antara.

The Minister of Health explained that for cooperation with China, there had been previous efforts so that the follow-up could possibly be carried out during President Prabowo's first visit next week.

Meanwhile, for cooperation with the United States (US), there has actually been a memorandum of understanding that has been followed up on health but is just waiting for a response from the US.

Lastly, the potential for cooperation that can be carried out in the health sector is with England, this follows up on the communication that has been established between the Minister of Health and the British Ambassador.

"Then the British, their Ambassador also came to see me, he also said, if they come, can there be a single cooperation that can be signed together," said Budi.

The report on potential cooperation was submitted by the Minister of Health considering that he could not accompany the President on his overseas visit.

In the near future, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will visit several partner countries to attend several invitations and meetings.

Prabowo will attend the APEC Summit in Peru, the G20 Summit in Brazil, make state visits to China, the United States, England, and possibly attend invitations from G7 countries.

On Wednesday, November 6, the Head of State even held a plenary cabinet meeting with the specific aim of discussing preparations for his overseas visit.

"So these things (overseas visits) I cannot avoid because they all have strategic value, and are also related to our economic situation," Prabowo said in his direction at the introduction of the plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 6.
