Vice President Calls The Geographical And Topography Of The Republic Of Indonesia A Challenge For Integrated Transportation
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin revealed various challenges in the development of efficient and integrated transportation infrastructure in Indonesia.
"Transportation is an important element between regions that supports the economic development and development of a civilization," said the Vice President in his remarks at the 2024 Hub Space event at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) Convention Center and Theater, Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday, September 6, which was confiscated by Antara.
According to the Vice President, Indonesia's diverse geographical and topographic characteristics are a challenge in the development of the transportation infrastructure.
"In addition, we are also still facing uneven transportation infrastructure development, limited infrastructure financing budgets to traffic congestion in big cities," said the Vice President.
Furthermore, said the Vice President, concerns about the impact of climate change are also an impetus for Indonesia to continue to strive to reduce carbon emissions through the development of environmentally friendly transportation.
In facing these various challenges in the increasingly complex transportation sector, the government is making various important efforts to advance transportation and connectivity in Indonesia.
"One of them is the development of mass transportation infrastructure to reduce congestion, improve air quality, and facilitate community mobility," said the Vice President.

In addition, the Vice President continued, there is also an increase in connectivity between regions, even to the leading, outermost, and underdeveloped regions that stimulate economic growth and support smooth logistics.
"Currently, the implementation of a smart transportation system that utilizes digital technology and information to improve operational efficiency and transportation safety," said the Vice President.
Not only direct support in physical form, the Vice President revealed that the government is also developing an investment scheme in the development of transportation infrastructure to overcome the problem of budget constraints.
To note, the Ministry of Transportation is again holding the Hub Space, an activity aimed at conveying the performance and achievements of the transportation sector and giving appreciation to the parties who have contributed greatly to these achievements.
The 2024 Space Hub will be held on September 6-7, 2024 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta with the theme Integrated Mobility for All.
The word integrated describes a place to socialize and spirit collaboration. Meanwhile, the word mobility describes today's social portraits that require everyone to be adaptive to speed, including technological developments.
