2 US Marine Soldiers Received Attack In Turkey Rushed To Hospital
JAKARTA - The United States Navy (US) said two of its Marines had an attack incident shortly after their ship docked in Turkey.
A spokesman for the US Sixth Fleet, Navy Commander Timothy Gorman said the two soldiers had been rushed to hospital. Meanwhile, Turkish security forces have been involved in an investigation.
"Local Izmir Police and the Navy's Criminal Investigation Service (AL) are working together on the investigation of the incident," Gorman was quoted as saying by CBS News, Tuesday, September 3.
"No Marines have been detained by the authorities and those involved are working with investigators," he continued.
The US Navy did not elaborate further on this incident in Turkey. They chose to remain silent regarding what the Marines had done before the incident and the suspect who carried out the attack.
US Marines from the USS Wasp docked with Turkey part of a 24th US Marine marine expedition in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The USS Wasp has just completed bilateral exercises with Turkey in the region.
