BPBD Records 22 Disasters After Bogor Heavy Rain Last Night
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded at least 22 disasters after heavy rains and strong winds in Bogor City yesterday, Monday, September 2. Currently BPBD personnel are still conducting assessments in the field.
The Head of BPBD Bogor City, Hidayatulloh, said that of the 22 incidents, 13 of them were fallen trees, 7 roofs of collapsed houses.
"Today there is still an assessment because this morning there was a house whose roof was carried away by the wind," he said in Bogor City, Tuesday, September 3, which was confiscated by Antara.
Hidayatulloh said that for the incident, all fallen trees had been handled on Monday, September 2 night. Meanwhile, the roof of the house collapsed, which was handled according to the condition of the house.
"The house is still possible to install tarpaulins, if it is not possible, the residents will be relocated to the shelter. But so far no one has been evacuated," he said.

He appealed to regional officials to ensure educating residents regarding mitigation in the rainy season. Especially not to take shelter under trees, and park vehicles under trees during heavy rain and strong winds.
In addition, he said, residents who live in disaster-prone locations such as landslides should evacuate themselves first to safer locations.
"Do an early warning system through the regional apparatus, to remind residents to survive the disaster, avoid disaster-prone locations," he said.
