PDIP Confirms Anies Baswedan-Rano Karno Meet Today

JAKARTA - The chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat confirmed that there was a meeting between Anies Baswedan-Rano Karno who was predicted to run in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. The meeting was held at the B DPP PDIP building, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

"Indeed, Mr. Anies, we saw him coming to Building B. Met Doel. Bang Rano," Djarot told reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 26.

Djarot said the two met to communicate. "You have to remember that Pak Rano, Bang Rano is the Governor of Banten," he said.

"Pak Anies is the Governor of DKI. When the Governor of DKI and the Deputy Governor of Banten discussed it is not allowed. Yes, right. So in order to stay in touch, to talk about what DKI will actually be like in the future. Exchange experiences," he continued.

PDI-P has not planned to announce its candidate in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election. Djarot asked all parties to wait for a decision from Megawati Soekarnoputri as the General Chair of the PDIP.

"That's the prerogative of the general chairman. So be patient a little, one or two days, the general chairman will definitely say who will be nominated in DKI Jakarta, West Java, East Java," said Djarot.

"The most important thing is yes, so just wait a day or two," concluded the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
