Central PWI Freezes Riau Management And Appoints Dheni Kurnia As Acting Chair

JAKARTA - The Central PWI management has officially frozen the management of PWI Riau for the period 2023-2028 starting August 16, 2024. This decision also stipulates H. Dheni Kurnia as Acting (Plt) Chairperson of PWI Riau.

According to the Central PWI Decree number 254-PLP/PP-PWI/2024, the suspension was carried out because the Riau PWI Management violated Article 8 letter a Basic Regulation, which required members to comply with organizational regulations and decisions. PWI Riau received the first and last warnings on August 14, 2024.

In addition to the appointment of Dheni Kurnia as Acting Chair, the Central PWI also appointed Eka Putra Nazir as Acting Secretary and Main Satria of Batubara as Acting Treasurer of PWI Riau. Their main task is to prepare an Extraordinary Conference (Conferlub) to select a new board within six months.

The Head of the Central PWI Organization, Irmanto, stated that Dheni Kurnia was chosen because he was considered capable of solving the problems in PWI Riau. "Pak Dheni Kurnia is the right figure to become the Acting Chair of PWI Riau. His two-term experience as Chair of PWI Riau and his involvement in the construction of the Riau PWI Building are added values," explained Irmanto.

Dheni Kurnia, who also serves as Chair of the Central PWI Award Commission, expressed her readiness to carry out the mandate. "I love PWI and want to make sure PWI remains solid. I will try to restore the existing divisions," said Dheni.

In the near future, Dheni plans to meet with the Acting Secretary and Treasurer to determine the next steps. He hopes that all members of PWI Riau will support this effort until the Conference is carried out.
