Police In Search For The Love Bird Thieves In Lenteng Agung

JAKARTA - South Jakarta Jagakarsa Police is investigating the theft of love birds in Lenteng Agung. One of the two perpetrators was arrested and beaten by residents.

"The thieves' action was discovered and shouted at by owner," said Jagakarsa Police Chief, Commissioner Eko Mulyadi in Jakarta, as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 22.

The theft of love birds occurred on Sunday, March 21 at around 02.30 western Indonesia time at Ahmad Fauzi's house in Lenteng Agung.

The two actors identified with the initials RLC are 24 years old and AY. Both came from Rawadas, Duren Sawit.

The RLC, he said, was arrested by residents after running away due to shouted as thieves.

Meanwhile, AY fled and is still the target of the police.

"The RLC was secured by the residents and taken to the house of the head of Neighbor Association. Then the perpetrator and the evidence were brought by the Jagakarsa Police," said Police Commissioner Eko.

Apart from arresting the perpetrators, the police also secured evidence, namely a love bird, two cages, and a motorbike.

Currently, the perpetrator is being investigated by officers from the Criminal Investigation Unit at the Jagakarsa Police. The police are now pursuing other perpetrators.

Love bird is a popular bird because it has bright plumage and a loud voice.

The price can vary, from hundreds of thousands to millions of rupiah, for example, the love bird violin blue or white and blue, it is said that the price per bird is around Rp. 40 million.
