FIDE Chess Sees 'Dewa Kipas' VS GM Irene Sukandar Match
JAKARTA - Dewa Kipas or Dadang Subur's live match against Grand Master (GM) Irene Sukandar attracted the public's attention. No exception to the International Chess Federation (FIDE Chess) which also posted the chess match.
Who would have thought that the chess match that was held on Deddy Corbuzier's YouTube channel #CloseTheDoor attracted a large audience? It was recorded that more than 1.5 netizens watched the live broadcast of Dewa Kipas vs GM Irene Sukandar.
"Anyway, we have broken the record for the biggest live with the number of more than one million viewers", said Deddy Corbuzier, Monday, March 22.
Deddy Corbuzier did not expect the duel between Dewa Kipas and GM Irene Sukandar to be greeted enthusiastically by netizens. "Usually football is what we have been waiting for. But this time, it's chess", he said.
In this friendly chess match, both Dewa Kipas and Irene competed in a four-round format. Each player has two chances to use black pawns, with the interval between halves being five minutes.
Acting as commentators were Grand Master (GM) Susanto Megantoro and Woman International Master (WIM) Chelsie Monica. There was also Hendry Jamal, Chairman of the PB Percasi School Chess Commission, acting as the match referee.

Winning 3-0 made Dewa Kipas or Dadang Subur give up and not continue the last round. Even so, Deddy Corbuzier has prepared a total prize of IDR 300 million.
"The winner gets IDR 200 million, the loser also gets IDR 100 million in prizes", said Deddy Corbuzier.
