Good Grief, Place Of Worship In Koja Becomes A Place For Transactions To Buy And Sell Methamphetamine, The Management Is Arrested By The Police

JAKARTA The mosque administrator alias marbot with the initials S alias AK in Koja, North Jakarta was arrested by the Koja Police for selling methamphetamine in a place of worship, Wednesday, July 24.

"This perpetrator was caught red-handed carrying out a sale and purchase transaction at Koja, to be precise in the office concerned," Koja Police Chief Kompol M Syahroni, at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday.

He said that during the examination in the room, officers found narcotics of the type of methamphetamine, weighing 21.60 grams, which had been separated into a number of small packages.

"Approximately 27 packages weighing 21.60 grams sold by the perpetrator, brother S, per package for Rp. 1 million. So, more or less if it is Rp. 21.6 million," he said.

In addition, officers confiscated Rp500 thousand from drug transactions, cell phones and digital scales.

Kompol M Syahroni explained that perpetrator S got the illicit goods from a man with the initials A in the Semper Barat area and both of them were making transactions in one of the rooms in the mosque.

From the confession of the perpetrator, he got this item from someone who is still being held at one of the prisons in Jakarta.

"This perpetrator is a recidivist of a similar case and serves a sentence of five years in prison," he said.

According to the perpetrator's confession, he carried out this criminal act alone and this perpetrator was threatened with Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary paragraph 2 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a imprisonment of 10-15 years in prison.
