Pressing The Pandemic, Asked Business World To Comply With Micro PPKM Extension

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives welcomes the Government's policy of extending and expanding the area for implementing the Enforcement of Micro-scale Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) from 23 March to 5 April 2021.

Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives, Darul Siska, assessed that the micro PPKM was quite successful in reducing the number of positive cases of COVID-19. He also hopes that all circles can support this policy.

Darul invites all parties, including the business world, to respond positively and be obedient to the extension and expansion of the micro PPKM. In order to accelerate economic recovery.

"The business world must support this policy, because economic recovery will not be possible if the pandemic problem is not resolved," Darul told reporters, Monday, March 22.

Apart from vaccinations, the Golkar politician believes positive cases of COVID-19 can be suppressed by implementing strict health protocols and micro PPKM.

However, he also asked the government not to be careless in monitoring the mutation of various viruses recently.

"New virus mutations must also be monitored to ensure that the available vaccines are capable of warding off mutated viruses," said Darul.

It is known, the Government has again extended the Enactment of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) on a micro-scale. This policy is extended for 14 days.

"That this was extended March 23 to April 5," said Chairman of the Committee for Handling COVID-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPC PEN) Airlangga Hartarto in an online press conference, Friday, March 19.

Besides being extended, the coverage of the micro PPKM area was also expanded. Initially, there were 10 provinces that implemented this policy, namely DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, DI Yogyakarta, Banten, Bali, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, and North Sumatra.

Now, there are 15 provinces that apply these restrictions with the addition of South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and West Nusa Tenggara.
