As Many As 300 Thousand Children In East Jakarta Will Receive Polio Vaccines From The East Jakarta City Government
JAKARTA - As many as 300 thousand children in the East Jakarta area will get polio vaccinations. The immunization week is carried out in all Elementary Schools (SD), Puskesmas, RSUD and locations that are referrals from the East Jakarta Health Sub-dept.
Immunization of polio targets children aged 0-7 years and will be carried out in two rounds.
"Today is the kick off of the polio National Immunization Week (PIN) at SDN 24 Kramat Jati, Kramat Jati Village, East Jakarta," said East Jakarta Mayor M. Anwar to reporters, Tuesday, July 23.
This PIN Polio activity, he continued, is the task of the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot) to ensure that all toddlers in East Jakarta have been given polio immunization.
M. Anwar hopes that with two drops of polio vaccine, all children in East Jakarta will be free from polio.
Meanwhile, according to data from the East Jakarta Health Sub-dept., the Mayor continued, there are 300 thousand children who will get polio immunizations.

"I urge all parents to bring their children for polio immunization, both at the posyandu, and the health center to carry out polio immunization activities. If residents are far from the Puskesmas, we will pick them up to the RW secretariat hall," he said.
Aulia, a resident of Cibubur, welcomed the polio vaccination activity. He said, this polio PIN activity is very good so that children are healthier. This also makes people more aware of the health of their children.
"Previously my child had been given polio immunizations but because there was an agenda from the government in preventing polio. So I immunized my child again. I hope that all children in Indonesia will be free from polio," he said.
