Hundreds Of Elementary School 01 Students Pondok Bambu Cry Hysterically Seeing His School Burned

JAKARTA - Hundreds of students at SDN 01 Pondok Bambu, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, cried hysterically when their school building was engulfed in flames, Tuesday, July 23, afternoon.

"When they picked them up, all their children were crying (SDN students). They were successfully evacuated, all of them came out. Alhamdulillah, congratulations to all the children," said Nanang, one of the students' parents to reporters at the fire site.

Hundreds of elementary school students cried because they saw the emergence of the flames that continued to grow in their schools. The reason is, the fire incident occurred when teaching and learning activities took place.

"Still in lessons. Still studying. When I saw above the warehouse there were already sparks," he said.

Nanang said that when the fire broke out, there were grade 2 and grade 3 elementary school students who were still following lesson hours due to the limit of study hours until 14.00 western Indonesia time.

"The second grader and third grader came home at 2 (in the afternoon). The fire from the warehouse continued to spread to this school building," he said.

A total of 85 personnel from the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. officers extinguished the fire that burned the SDN 10 Pondok Bambu building, Jalan Gading II and Jalan H Kavling, RT 05/11, Pondok Bambu, Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Tuesday, July 23, afternoon.

The fire burned almost all the buildings in the school building.

"The object caught fire in the school warehouse, drumband warehouse and 18 classrooms. The cause of the fire was suspected to be an electrical short," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Abdul Wahid when confirmed by VOI.
