JAKARTA - Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD asked the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force (Online gambling) to move quickly to eradicate and take firm action against dealers and gambling in the Jakarta area.
"I ask the Online Judi Task Force to act immediately, especially in Jakarta," said Secretary of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Achmad Yani in his statement, Sunday, June 30.
According to him, the condition of online gambling in Jakarta is already at an emergency point and has even claimed many victims.
Moreover, Jakarta is also listed as the second province with the highest number of online gamblers.
Yani assessed that the eradication of online gambling was not enough just to close an account. The reason is, the condition of the dealer who is still free will continue to perpetuate online gambling.
In addition to closing accounts or servers of online gambling operators, he said it must be accompanied by tracing the dealer's account.
"Searching their accounts with an approach to money laundering crimes," he added.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Polhukam) of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the Head of the Online Judi Task Force Hadi Tjahjanto revealed the five provinces with the highest number of online gamblers, namely West Java, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, and Banten.
Especially in Jakarta, the Online Judi Task Force noted that Cengkareng District is the area with the highest number of gamblers, namely, 14,782 people with a total transaction of Rp176 billion.
Furthermore, there is the Kalideres area with 9,825 online gamblers and a total transaction of Rp113 billion. Followed by the Tambora area as many as 7,916 people with a total transaction of Rp196 billion.
Next, Penjaringan District with the number of online gamblers detected 7,127 people with total transactions reaching Rp108 billion. In the Kemayoran District area, there are 6,080 online gamblers with total transactions reaching Rp118 billion.
