Paper Warehouse In Cempaka Putih Caught Fire Due To An Electric Short Circuit

JAKARTA - The residence that was used as a paper warehouse on Jalan Cempaka Putih Barat 19, RT 8/7, Cempaka Putih Barat Village, Cempaka Putih District, Central Jakarta was burned down on Thursday, June 13.

It is suspected that the cause of the fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit from the roof installation of the house.

"We immediately dispatched units and officers to the location. In total we deployed 5 fire units with a strength of 20 personnel," said Head of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept., Asril Rizal, to reporters.

His party received information about the incident at around 14:40 WIB, this afternoon. Information on the fire incident on Jalan Cempaka Putih Barat XIX, RT 08/07, Cempaka Putih Barat Village, was reported by residents who came to the Cempaka Putih Barat Fire Station.

The first officers arrived at the location at around 14:43 WIB, immediately extinguished them. After handling for less than 10 minutes, the fire can be controlled and localized.

Luckily, the fire incident did not result in any casualties or serious injuries. Based on information compiled by officers, the fire incident was discovered after someone saw the fire on the roof of the house

Then the fire spread to other parts of the house. After the blackout was completed at around 15:06 WIB, it was discovered that an area of about 40 square meters of the house was scorched by the fire.

"It is suspected that the fire incident was triggered by an electrical short in the roof area which spreads other parts of the house," he said.
