2 Citilink Passengers Got Arrested At Kualanamu Airport For Smuggling 1Kg Of Meth In Their Shoes

MEDAN - Avsec officers at Kualanamu Airport, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra arrested two Citilink passengers traveling to Medan-Banjarmasin. The two of them smuggled 1 kg of crystal methamphetamine in their shoes.

Senior Manager of Operation & Service at Kualanamu Airport, Agoes Soepriyanto said the two passengers came from Aceh. The two are Aldi Arsyadi (33), a resident of East Aceh Regency, and Ismail (27), North Aceh Regency.

"They were arrested at 7:20 p.m. during an inspection at the X-Ray entrance", said Soepriyanto, Friday, March 12.

Avsec officers then conducted a search and found evidence of methamphetamine weighing more than 1kg in their shoes.

"There are 8 bags that are secured from the inside of the shoe. The total weight is 1.15kg", he said.

Soepriyanto said that the methamphetamine was planned to be smuggled into Banjarmasin.

"The goods (want) to be sent to Banjarmasin to transit in Jakarta using Citilink aircraft", he added.

The two methamphetamine couriers in shoes were brought to the North Sumatra Police. Both of them are undergoing further legal proceedings.

Furthermore, after the evidence was secured at around 22.00 p.m., the two suspects were taken to the North Sumatra Regional Police for further investigation.
