Flood And Land Land Land Victims In South Sulawesi Receive Hundreds Of Millions Of Money And Food Aid
JAKARTA - The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Sulawesi (Sulsel) has again sent humanitarian assistance from the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) for flood and landslide disaster victims in a number of areas in South Sulawesi.
Acting (Pj) Regional Secretary (Sekda) of South Sulawesi Andi Muhammad Arsjad, said this assistance came from the OPD of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to be distributed directly to areas affected by floods and landslides through the main post in Luwu Regency.
"Today we both release OPD humanitarian assistance for victims of flash floods and landslides. This assistance, God willing, will be distributed to affected areas," he said.
The type of aid sent, he said, was in the form of funds collected for two days with a total of more than Rp. 289 million and other assistance such as foodstuffs, drinks, suitable clothes, baby needs, medicines, women's needs, and other necessities.
He explained that some of the aid had been handed over to the main post and had also been distributed earlier, so that this assistance would further maximize the fulfillment of needs for victims affected by the disaster.
"Of course we hope this will be a form of concern that will certainly ease the victims of natural disasters in affected areas," he explained.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the South Sulawesi Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Devo Khadafi explained that the OPD humanitarian assistance to be sent to the parent post was in the form of financial assistance and logistical assistance, ranging from more than Rp289 million in cash and assistance for goods such as rice, equipment for babies, mineral water, tarpaulins, plastic carpets, toiletries.
"This is a lot collected, which if converted into approximately Rp1 billion," he said.
On that occasion, Devo also reported that the latest conditions at the disaster site, where a number of accesses to isolated villages had begun to open up. However, the weather conditions with frequent rain still cause small landslides in several places.
For this reason, he hopes that the coordination and cooperation of stakeholders in handling efforts, especially in helping the recovery of post-disaster conditions in affected areas, can be handled quickly.
