Abdul Somad, a community leader in Sruni Village, said the tradition had always been carried out to coincide with Lebaran Ketupat or Lebaran cattle.

This tradition of herding cows, he said, continues the culture of the ancestors and is still preserved by the residents of Sruni Village.

"The tradition of herding cows that have been going on for generations is an annual tradition. It will be held at the end of the Eid celebration or at D+7 Lebaran, coinciding with Lebaran Ketupat or Syawalan, so that local people also usually mention Bakdo Kupat and Bakdo Sapi," he said in Boyolali, Wednesday, April 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to the Head of RW 04, Sruni Boyolali Jaman Village, residents' trust in the shawalan tradition by bringing livestock around the village because on that day the Sulaiman Prophet's Kanjeng examined the residents' livestock, so residents also took their cows out of the cage and were taken around the village before being fed to ketupat.

"This culture follows the Kanjeng Nabi Sulaiman, which was once ruled by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala (SWT) to take care of pets, both two-legged and four-legged. So this tradition has been going on for generations since ancient times. This tradition also begins with kenduri using ketupat along with vegetables and side dishes by residents," he said.

During the procession, it started with mountains of vegetables and ketupat, then a reog art group, then junior high school students in kebaya clothes and behind the procession of cows around the village.

"This tradition is a form of gratitude for the head of God Almighty for the abundance of sustenance through cattle. At the same time, I ask God Almighty so that the livestock that are kept by residents can breed well," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Culture Division of the Department of Education and Culture (Disbudpar) Boyolali Regency, Eko Sumardiyanto, said that his party appreciated cultural traditional activities that had been carried out every year in Sruni Village, Musuk District, along with Lebaran Ketupat in the area.

According to him, cattle for the Boyolali community in general and Sruni Village in particular are part of life and life. The people of life as a whole cannot be separated from the presence of cattle. For that, he said, the moment of Eid al-Fitr Ketupat community treated cattle as part of their life.

Boyolali Education and Culture has the main task, one of which is the promotion of culture, he said, of course, to appreciate this activity. With the hope that the community will be maximized in managing their cattle so that it becomes a motivation for the community to continue to live with livestock for their welfare.
