Preparation For Mass APK Dismissal, Central Java KPU Affirms Political Parties Are Not Allowed To Sue Officers
JAKARTA - The General Election Commission of Batang Regency, Central Java, is preparing for the cleaning or removal of campaign props installed at several points and those around the polling stations ahead of the stages of the quiescent period of the 2024 Simultaneous Elections.
The Coordinator of the Educational Socialization Division for Voters, Community Participation, and Human Resources of the Batang Khikmatun Regency KPU, said that the implementation of cleaning up campaign props would involve the Election Supervisory Body, Civil Service Police Unit, Transportation Service, and representatives of election participants.
"We will start cleaning the APK from February 11, 2024. We hope that all campaign props will be cleaned before the 2024 General Election," said Khikmatun, Antara, Thursday, February 8.
At the Coordination Meeting for Preparation for the Cleaning of the 2024 Election Campaign Equipment and Preparation for the Making of Campaign Fund Revenue and Expenditure Reports, Khikmatun said that the cleaning of the APB also aims to maintain public order.
Therefore, he said, all paid and free campaign props, including billboards, tubers, and banners, will be cleaned.

According to him, there is an obligation from political parties or election participants to clean up or remove the APK on the D-1 period of calm.
"Indeed, in this case, there are no sanctions but political parties should not sue if the campaign props are lowered by officers. The public is not prohibited from participating in cleaning up the APK during calm times," he said.
Regarding the campaign carried out on social media, the General Elections Commission reminded social media users to be completed by February 10, 2024.
"Even the campaign on social media must be deleted and or the account is closed," he said.
