Joint SAR Team Searches For Drowned Youth In Cipinang Ciracas River

JAKARTA - A man named Abdul Rohman (25), a resident of Jalan HM Sabar, has reportedly drowned in the Cipinang Hulu River, RT 04/01, Rambutan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta since last Wednesday, January 31.

According to witness testimony, the victim and two of his friends were playing in swimming water in Cipinang River, which at that time experienced an increase in water discharge. However, for a while, the victim's body was washed away and drowned in the Cipinang River.

Although a search has been carried out since last Wednesday, the victim has not been found. On Thursday, February 1, the joint SAR team resumed their search for victims.

"Today the search uses the SAR Explore (E-SAR) method, which is to follow along the Cipinang Hulu river flow up to a 2 KM radius from the scene," said Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation, Desiana Kartika Bahari when confirmed, Thursday, February 1.

This method is carried out because of the receding condition of the Cipinang Hulu river with a height of 30 to 50 cm or the waist of an adult.

"We will try with the maximum search today, it is possible that we will expand the search this afternoon by utilizing the number of joint SAR personnel involved," he said.

The joint SAR teams involved in the search for victims include the Jakarta Basarnas, DKI Jakarta BPBD, Metro Jaya Police Mobile Brigade, Human Initiative and local residents.
