Hundreds Of Houses Of Residents Of Kebon Pala, East Jakarta, Were Submerged By Water Due To Rainfall

Residents of Kebon Pala RT 10 and RT 13/RW 04, Kampung Melayu Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, have been flooded. High water discharge since the rain hit the DKI Jakarta area.

Head of RT 13/RW 04 Sanusi said the high rainfall caused 100 residents' houses to be flooded.

"The water level this morning reached 65 centimeters (cm), but now it is starting to recede to reach 50 cm," said Sanusi.

According to him, the cause of the current flooding was not due to flooding from Bogor, as before.

"This is not a flood sent, but a flood from the rainfall which has fallen heavily in the past few days," he said.

Residents of Kebon Pala are often affected by flooding because residential areas are lower and are near the Ciliwung River. When the water discharge rises in the area, it is often affected by the overflow of the river.

Meanwhile, the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded that as many as 17 neighborhood units (RT) and 22 roads were flooded.

Of the 17 RTs, the 15 RTs are located in East Jakarta, namely one RT in Rambutan Village, Ciracas District with a water level of 30 cm, with the cause of high rainfall and overflow of Cipinang River.

Then, one RT in Dukuh Village, District. Kramat Jati with a height of 40 cm and 13 RT in Makassar Village with a height of 30 cm.

Meanwhile, three roads in East Jakarta were also flooded, namely Jalan Raya Jambore, Cibubur Village, with a height of 20 cm; Jalan Raya Bogor, Rambutan Village, East Jakarta (Titik Memahu Busway Busway Pasar Induk Kramat Jati) with a height of 10 cm; Jalan Raya Ciracas with a water level of 10 cm.
