Indonesia Has A Potential Of 468 Million Lobster Seeds, KKP Stars Its Smuggling In Soetta With The 'Coperman' Mode
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said that cases of smuggling lobster seeds often occur through a package disguise mode containing clear lobster seeds (BBL) through 'coperman' which is sent by sea, land and air expedition services.
The Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the KKP, Rear Admiral TNI Adin Nurawaluddin, said that Indonesia has the potential to lose non-tax state revenues to reach Rp30 trillion from the impact of the BBT smuggling.
"And indeed for this BBL smuggling destination, the most to Vietnam is because the country needs the largest lobster cultivation industry," he said in Tangerang, Monday, December 4, which was confiscated by Antara.
For this reason, the Supervision of Marine and Fishery Resources at the KKP held a joint operation with the TNI/Polri to protect lobster commodities from the smuggling of lobster clear seeds. Officially the operation began in Batam on December 1-30, 2023.
Now, the joint operation targets Soekarno Hatta Airport (Soetta) Tangerang, Banten as the air sector in the vulnerability to smuggling lobster seeds. Airport Authority Soetta was also involved in this activity.
"The background of this operation is based on the considerable potential of BBL owned by Indonesia and analytically which states that Indonesia has a lobster seed potential of 468 million seeds. Although indeed from the confession of the smugglers, the need for the lobster industry in Vietnam is approximately 600 million seeds," said Adin.

In addition, in an effort to suppress the smuggling of lobster clear seeds, the KKP together with Vietnam collaborated with the G to G (government to government) mechanism in the development of the BBL cultivation industry.
"Hopefully this BBL will really be distributed according to the existing legality, not through illegal businesses so that the large needs of the Vietnam state can be maximized and according to the rules," he said.
